What We Do

Your local Kansas Capital Area chapter provides relief to victims of house fires, tornadoes, and other such disasters that affect northeast Kansas by providing immediate, emergency disaster-caused needs such as lodging, clothing, food and medicine. To help prepare our community for disasters, we provide prevention and preparedness tips and certify community members and local business employees in safety courses such as first aid and CPR. And your Red Cross chapter relays emergency messages between active military members and their families here at home by providing verified information regarding family matters such as illnesses, deaths and births.
