Who We Are

The Topeka Zoo is accredited by the American Zoo & Aquarium Association, which assures excellent care for animals, a great experience for visitors and a better future for all living things. The Zoo exists to strengthen the bond between people and the living earth by providing visitors with opportunities to:

  • Learn more about the natural world;
  • Increase scientific knowledge that benefits conservation
  • Support conservation of endangered animal populations and their habitat;
  • Participate actively in improving the quality of life in Kansas.

Mission Statement – The mission of the Topeka Zoological Park is to enrich the community through wildlife conservation and education.

Do you love people, animals and our Zoo? Enjoy helping people from all walks of life? Would you love to share your knowledge of nature and animals with our guests? Join our crew of volunteers of outgoing and dependable people.  The Topeka Zoo is looking for people with a passion for education and conservation to help out as a Room Ranger in our Education Room, our Bug Zoo and many more volunteer opportunities!
